Friends and sponsors of Ark Eden’s Eco Action Day are digging deep and giving generously for tomorrow’s dawn to dusk challenge. Visit our Eco Stars page and watch as stars keep popping out.
Action Day teams meet at the Mui Wo ferry in Lantau tomorrow morning at 9am for beach cleaning in Shui Hau, one of Lantau’s important nursery shores. At noon all groups head back to Ark Eden farm & eco house to pot about 1,000 native tree seedlings and tackle the conversion of acres of disused agriculture land into arable raised planting beds for organic gardening. All biological refuse from the project will be composted.
At dusk everyone will be rewarded with a candle-lit vegetarian feast at Ark Eden along with a special vigil for TckTckTck, 350.org, and Avaaz campaigns to call for a fair, ambitious and binding climate treaty in Copenhagen this weekend (Dec 11-13).
If you can’t make it for the Challenge activities, join us for the after-party.
Festivities continue from 8:30pm at Silver Mine Beach with Rocksteady, Ska, Dub & Reggae Club at China Beach (all proceeds going to Ark Eden) followed by another Candle lit vigil for ‘tck, tck, tck, ‘ 350.org and this weekend’s climate treaty meeting in Copenhagen.
